"I love the way that working with glass uses both sides of my brain!
I enjoy the technical challenges of the material, but also the creative journey that I can take that material on. This is well illustrated by the process of making tiles and other architectural panels, which must be made to strict dimensions and designs, and in contrast, the creation of sculptural and other more expressive pieces.
Much of my work contains abstract references to my location, the coast. I am a coastal person; my previous job was as a fisherman, and I have surfed, sailed and immersed myself in the ocean since I was a child. I hope that my work captures some of the experiences, and the passion I feel for the coast."
