Kathryn Pearce is a Scottish glass artist who has been working professionally for over 5 years. She graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2003 and after gaining experience working with various other glassmakers she started her own studio in 2004.

The artist works predominantly with molten glass which she blows and hot works to create her own unique designs. Some pieces then require extensive cold-finishing using diamond grinding, polishing and sandblasting techniques. She has worked on numerous private collection and corporate commissions as well as creating her own work, which ranges from functional pieces to larger scale sculptural work and installations.

Of her work she says: "The design and manufacture of one's own work is an interesting journey. For me, it is a cross between inspiration and process. I gain inspiration from many things, but most importantly glass itself inspires me. Glass is a frustrating and difficult medium, but the results more than make up for it. It's versatility offers everything my creative mind desires."
